TKA is a non-profit organization founded by a couple (wife as a child psychologist and husband as a LEGO Robotics educator providing programs in multiple towns in Boston since 2021). After the founders moved to the Metrowest area in 2023, they have been exploring afterschool programs for their children but have not found one single program that meets their interests. They then decided to design one for their children and their peers. Through 1-2 years of preparation, they eventually found a perfect program space and excellent teachers for the program. All classes and teachers are selected ****carefully ****by the child psychologist to ensure high quality and age-suitable for children. She will work as a volunteer to assist with program design, teacher hiring, and program evaluation.
Our curriculum balances learning and play in an engaging, relaxed environment, fostering a positive learning experience. In addition to knowledge and skills learning, we emphasize soft skills development (e.g., social-emotional skills, public speaking, confidence, logic, and problem-solving skills) that are essential for positive growth.
We do not emphasize intensive academic work during after-school time. Instead, our goal is to create a supportive environment where responsible and caring teachers accompany children after school, fostering strong teacher-student relationships, peer interactions, and social-emotional skills.
